I have been exploring new design trends including the use of text as background texturing, flat, clean aesthetics that have minimal depth, and striking accents using solid colors. Buttons are indicated by a wire frame or single line of accent color, drawing attention without breaking the visual theme.

I find color can be overused on the web. With this exploration I endeavored to create a striking layout with only black and white. The inspiration for the execution comes from illumination in darkness, the asymmetric ray of white acting as a spotlight for the content on display.

Music master is a search engine that indexes spotify and displays an artist's genre, number of followers, and their top tracks along with the ability to play clips from them. I wanted to build something that interfaced with a third party's api to achieve some goal and this was the result.

I had experience implementing parallax scrolling through javascript packages that make it very functional right out of the box, but I wanted to understand how it operated in vanilla javascript. The result is a simple application that demonstrates the functionality without use of bloated, prepackaged code.
